Why Volunteer

Volunteering is a great way to get involved with the festival, meet other musical improvisers and musical improv enthusiasts and also get free access to shows.

The Bay Area Musical Improv Festival is run by Bay Area Musical Improv, a 501(c)(3) non-profit and managed by a team of entirely volunteer producers. That means we also need your help to make this event run smoothly.

Most volunteer positions are social in nature and will provide you the opportunity to connect with the community in a purposeful way. As a volunteer, you'll get to be one of the welcoming faces that audience members and performers get to interact with.

Volunteer Logistics

Each volunteer shift is roughly 3 hours in length and each shift worked entitles the volunteer to one free show ticket (pending space availability).

All volunteer shifts will take place at the host venue--All Out Comedy Theater in Uptown Oakland--over the festival weekend: Fri, Oct 25 - Sun, Oct 27.

Once applications are complete, volunteer shifts will be allocated according to preferences and availability.

If you have any questions about volunteering that you would like answered before filling out the application form, please don't hesitate to contact us.
